Can We Have a Round of Gold Stars Over Here?

Number of courses required for a bachelor’s degree: 40
Number of final exams written by Sock Girl to obtain degree as of tonight: 40
Number of cervesas drank in celbration of terminar su examen español: 4
More specifically: (Bebí la cerveza cuatro para celebrar terminar mi examen español … or something to that effect… you really shouldn’t ask after 4 beer)
Amount of debt in obtaining said degree (presuming we pass Spanish): $0
Amount of time it took to complete: Feels like forever. Probably was in dog years.
How Muchacha del Calcetín (Sock Girl) is feeling right at the moment: Priceless

If any one is looking for me, I’m the sock that can’t wipe the silly grin off her face over here in the corner of Eastern Canada.

I think somebody needs to send a round of gold stars… or umbrella drinks… or somebody needs to pass me a gold medal and sing the national anthem or something. I’m just saying.

Consider yourself the recipient of one umbrella drink, liberally festooned with gold stars and served atop a gold medal. Congratulations! Can you hear the strains of O Canada?

Congratulations!! I know how hard it is to finish up college as an adult, parent, working person. I got my bachelors degree in 1999 at age 44. It means so much more when you do it the hard way.

What did we ever do before those Master Card (visa?) commercials?

Trust me, it feels very weird not to have anything due. I’m feeling guilty about not feeling guilty.

¡Brava y felicitaciones a la Muchacha de los Calcetines! Estoy muy orgullosa en tu éxito en completar los estudios en la universidad. Te mando muchas cervezas, estrellas doradas, y abrazos. Bien hecha, chica.

And, if you can read and understand that, then you did very well in your Spanish class.

    YOU ROCKS!!!!!

    O Canada!
    Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

    From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Congratulations! I hope you are going to be getting a chance to walk across a stage and pick up a nifty rolled-up piece of paper soon!

    Congratulations, Sock Girl!!

How many beers are you up to now? Cos if you’ve had enough, I might sing O Canada just for you. But without enough beers in ya, it would sound pretty awful as I can’t carry a tune in a bucket.
