I keep a pair of those Halloween nose/eyebrow glasses on my desk.
I wear glasses so I don’t wear nose/eyebrow glasses. Much.
My daughter wears the same size shoes as me.
My other daughter will definitely be taller than me. Soon.
I have no idea how to play poker.
But I’d really like to learn.
I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
I dream of one day owning my own home again.
And if fortune should smile, I’d also like to own a cottage.
I have no idea how to use the equipment in my house to record television shows.
I love to bake.
I have a fear of being too afraid in an emergency to scream.
I am an oldest child.
I’m a Scorpio.
I was born in a Year of the Tiger.
My first pet ever was a dog named Queenie.
My parents got me the dog because I was horribly afraid of them. (Dogs that is… not my parents)
I’m not anymore.
I officially type 81 words a minute, but I slowed down so I would be more accurate.
I have a BA in Psychology.
I have no idea what to do with it.
I have no idea what I want to be when I grow up.
My mother was originally going to name me Maureen.
My name is not Maureen.
It’s not really Sock Girl either.
To my knowledge, I am not named after anyone.
My favorite colour is white.
In high school I was in a play called “Glass Houses” as “Madame Rossignol, the greatest singer of the day”. I didn’t sing in the play, but spoke with a French accent.
I get dizzy very easily.
Some of my favourite movies are kids’ movies.
I try to be optimistic.
I love tv dance shows.
I love notebooks.
I didn’t learn to drive until I was 22.
I still can’t drive a standard.
I hate driving when it’s raining and dark.
Winter driving kind of freaks me out too.
I have owned 4 vehicles in my lifetime.
I currently drive a mini-van.
I’m awful at computer games.
I cannot stand being touched on the neck.
I am horrible at keeping houseplants alive.
When I was a little girl I thought I might like to be a go-go dancer because I liked the boots.
If I appear confident, I am probably pretending.
Despite this, I was in high school before it occurred to me that I was short.
I have lived in three Canadian provinces.
I like the extra “u” that Canadians and British put in words because I think vowels make words prettier.
I have never won a prize of skill.
But I probably have a few skills.
I need a vacation.
I don’t currently own an i-pod or a cell phone.
And probably couldn’t work them if I did.
I hate crowds.
I have never broken a bone.
I hate to be cold.
I don’t tan. (Freckle & burn. Freckle & burn.)
I love musicals. I think it would be fun to pretend you were living a musical for a whole day and just break out in song at random moments.
Except I rarely sing in front of people.
I have seen several royals (at a distance), but have only shaken the hand of Sophie, Dutchess of Wessex.
I have probably misplaced my glasses more times than my keys.
I’ve had my fortune told a couple of times.
I enjoy studying.
But I’m not so fond of tests.
I love ice cream.
I have a small scar on my lip from hitting it on a coffee table when I was learning to walk.
I stink at job interviews.
I love doing things creative.
I love the smell of crayons.
I have a lousy sense of direction.
I could easily live without talking that has no purpose. In my mind, the “nice day” chatter where I am expected to respond to questions where people don’t really listen to how I answer would be much better spent in a few minutes of blissful quiet.
I hate to be tickled.
I need to say “bless you” if you sneeze. Even if I don’t like you, I will probably say “bless you“. And I’ll probably mean it.
I think vanity is very unattractive and I wish someone would tell that to the “Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful” lady.
I would love a makeover.
Unless frumpy clothes and bohemian hair come into style, in which case I will be completely da’ bomb.
I have a great deal of difficulty remembering numbers. For this reason I have avoided classes involving remembering dates. I just can’t.
If gardening were like in Webkinz world (just click to water, weed & harvest) I would probably do more of it.
This is the hardest post I’ve ever written, and the most time consuming, as I really don’t think about myself for extended periods of time. It feels weird.
I would be quite happy to just snack all day instead of eating regular meals.
I wish I had more time to read. But I’m usually too tired by the end of the day.
I want my children to have fabulous memories of their childhood.
When I remember my dreams, they were in colour.
I don’t eat vegetables nearly as often as I should.
I could walk to work, but I don’t.
I want to make a quilt… even though I’ve started two and never finished them… and don’t even know where they are any more.
Scenes of fiction come to me as I’m driving. I’d write a book someday but I don’t know if I could afford the gas now.
I despise the sound of snapping gum. Really really.
I would rather wash, dry and fold ten loads of laundry than put away one.
I do not photograph well. (See # 77)
I hate to waste things.
I want to be a good example for my daughters.
Given how many hours I spend sitting at a desk all day, I’m surprised my butt isn’t bigger.
Maybe it is and I’m just in denial. ( I’m ok with that.)
I never comment on blogs but I had to write you and tell you how much I enjoy reading yours! It kind of sucked me in and hasn’t let go! And as I read your 101 things, I was astounded at how many of those apply to me! Wow, I don’t even know you but we are so much alike! For instance, I am a Scorpio. I didn’t get my license until late in life (later than you) and I can’t drive a standard. I HATE small talk and snapping gum – the latter causes me to think murderous thoughts about the person doing it. I adore reading but find I just want to fall asleep at the end of the day when I finally pick the book up. My son is in Tae Kwon Do, he joined at age five and I also hate to watch him spar. He is now ten and has his junior black belt. I still hate to watch him spar! I freckle and burn as well. Sometimes I burn in “patches” on my body. Very strange! I am also horrible at computer games and have killed every plant I was ever in charge of (some of them weren’t even mine!).
I will continue to read your blog now that I have found it and perhaps some day will meet you at a Tae Kwon Do tournament. I will look for the lady who appears as though they want to run into the ring as her daughter spars (that could be a few people I know now that I think about it).
Good luck with your job search – keep writing, you are awesome!
I just stumbled into your blog while procrastinating at work. I totally scored! Now I want to try the 100 things about myself exercise, but I’m afraid of what I might discover…
Wow! How long did it take for you to come up with that list? I may try that myself but it looks like hard work.
